The SussexFood team dressed up in “Where’s Wally” costumes to fundraise for Children in Need and raised £753.01 (and counting!).
Twelve members of staff from SussexFood, including the wider teams of Space with Us (Conference Services) and Delivered Hospitality, dressed up in the classic red and white of Wally and headed out on to campus for a fun-filled, Friday 13 November. They asked students and staff for small donations and the Sussex population gave very generously.
Wayne Spicer, Conference Manager and one of the enthusiastic Wallys on the day, was delighted with the response. He said: “Wow, what a day! Not only did the Wally outfits make it really fun for us, but they must have really clicked with students and staff, as the total collected has been nothing short of staggering!”
The "Where’s Wally?" concept worked brilliantly across multi-media. SussexFood played the classic Where’s Wally? game of spotting Wally in a crowded picture, only this time online. They shared photos on the SussexFood Facebook and Twitter pages of their Wallys hiding in crowded locations such as Eat Central and then asked people to spot them.
SussexFood also made a short film of their Wallys super-slowed down to a current hip hop track. It’s very “cool”.
