A Sussex Law School lecturer has been shortlisted for a national teaching award — just two years after first winning the very same prize.
Law lecturer Mary Lee memorably fended off competition from five other nominees from universities throughout England and Wales to be crowned LawCareers.Net Law Lecturer of the Year in May 2014.
The Law Lecturer of the Year award, which was introduced to the long-running LawCareers.Net Training & Recruitment Awards in 2012, is designed to highlight and recognise the contribution made by those who teach law in an inspiring and engaging way.
This year, Mary is one of seven individuals shortlisted for the coveted title, alongside lecturers from the likes of York, Liverpool and Derby — and the tributes have already started rolling in.
Tweeting after the nominees were announced earlier today (15 March), Sussex student @Kubra_N_ wrote: "So happy to see Mary Lee nominated as Law Lecturer of the Year again!"
The full list of nominees for Law Lecturer of the Year is:
- Daniel Berger (University of Hertfordshire)
- Michael Gordon (University of Liverpool)
- David Hodgkinson (University of Derby)
- Caroline Hunter (University of York)
- Benjamin Jones (University of South Wales)
- Mary Lee (University of Sussex)
- Ryan Murphy (Aston University)
As before, the award will be made at the Training & Recruitment Awards, which this year take place at Merchant Taylors' Hall in London on 19 May.
Results from the ceremony will be tweeted live on the night by @SussexCareersNetUK using the hashtag #LCNawards16.
