The University of Sussex and Zhejiang Gongshang University in Hangzhou, China have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen co-operation in research and teaching.
Led by Professor Su Weihua, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research, a Zhejiang Gongshang delegation to Sussex this week included Deans of the Schools of Information and Electronic Engineering, Statistics and Mathematics, and Art and Design.
The delegation was received by Professor Richard Follet, Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International). "This visit provided an excellent opportunity to explore joint research, as well as innovative and exciting opportunities for delivering Sussex education overseas," said Professor Follet. "The visit reaffirmed the mutual benefits of working together on international initiatives, and building outstanding international experiences for students."
The delegation also met with other senior University of Sussex leaders including Professor Saul Becker, Provost, and Professor Stephen Shute, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Planning and Resources).
Professor Weihua expressed his thanks for the warm welcome he and his colleagues received, as he and colleagues look forward to meaningful engagement with Sussex.
Zhejiang Gongshang University is the top-ranked university for business education in China and it currently has over 18 schools running programmes in business, management, the sciences and languages.
