Today the University wrote to all tutors and staff of grade 7 and above. You can read the message below:

Dear colleague,

A reminder to those of you who took part in the industrial action in December that you are required to complete the industrial action declaration form by 5pm tomorrow (Friday 7 January).

Some members of the University and College Union (UCU) chose to take up to three days of strike action in December 2021 (1-3 December inclusive).

The University’s stated position is that the University will deduct pay from staff who take lawful industrial action at the rate of 1/365^th of salary, for each day that is not worked.

Deducting a day's pay for a day of strike action is a normal and accepted outcome of strike action.

Thank you to all those colleagues who have completed the electronic return form to confirm the date(s) on which you took strike action. Please use your short username as your user id to access the online declaration form.
