Bramber House roof repairs are now underway

Work is now underway to replace the roof panels above each of the five stairwells in Bramber House.
Bramber House, Eat Central and the Co-op will remain open throughout the works, but there will be changes to the building’s access routes as scaffolding is put up and when works on the roof take place. Work will take place above one stairwell at a time and during works the stairwell being worked on will be closed.
Changes to Bramber House access
From Thursday 17 August, the stairwell and entrance to Bramber House / Co-op from (Arts Path side) will be closed whilst scaffolding is put up and will remain closed until works above the stairwell are complete. During this closure you can access Bramber House via the entrance on Refectory Road or via Eat Central. Internally, both Bramber House lifts will remain operational or you can use the stairwell at the north end of the buildings (just beyond Eat Central’s main entrance).
We estimate this first stairwell roof replacement will take 6 to 8 weeks, but it may take longer. When complete, work will commence on the next stairwell.
Over the next 4 to 5 weeks, we will also erect scaffolding around the two other stairwells on the Arts Path side of Bramber House. These will close temporarily as the scaffolding goes up, and then reopen until work on its roof section starts.
The impact of works
If you are in or near Bramber House, you are likely to hear the works taking place and may notice vibrations in the building.
We recommend that anyone with a Personal Emergency Evacuation Plan (PEEP) that intends to use Bramber House, speak with their line manager to see if this plan needs to be reviewed.
