The University has made significant improvements to its online jobs page and job candidate application process through the rapid implementation of a new applicant tracking system, going live on Tuesday 7 November.
Colin Shipp, Director of HR, said: “The new system will significantly improve the experience for prospective job applicants, as it brings easier application processes, enhanced accessibility, and a modernised interface.
“Internally, the new system will mean that the HR team will be able to better support hiring managers with their recruitment process as we will be able to manage more roles simultaneously, improving the University’s ability to fill vacancies, especially during busy periods. It will also provide more data to underpin our analysis of the candidate experience, including from an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion perspective.
“This is the first step on our digital HR transformation programme as we work to improve the experience for our staff, managers, and candidates through implementing more accessible technology.”
Candidates can look forward to several new benefits, including:
- multiple options for user accessibility
- role search functionality
- online application forms
- mobile application compatibility
- CV reading and conversion to our online application form
- the ability to sign up to job alerts
- automated workflow emails, and auto-closing of jobs
- every candidate will now receive a response about the status of their application
There will be no change to the processes used by Recruiting Managers for now, and Box will continue to be used for the collation of applications and feedback.
