New all-gender toilets have been installed in Pevensey I and Arts A, as part of the ongoing expansion of gender-neutral facilities on campus as Sussex.
Delivered by the Sussex Estates and Facilities (SEF) Projects team, these have been developed to replace aging facilities and gender-assigned toilets, while also fully refurbishing the spaces with new cleaning cupboards included to make regular cleaning faster and more efficient.
The new Pevensey I WC (lower ground floor, by the undercroft) includes full accessibility including automatic doors, showers, and a baby changing station. Following feedback from staff and students, it also includes women’s only facilities.
The new Arts A facilities (by the A4 and A5 teaching rooms) also include an accessible WC and baby changing station, and overall greatly refurbished facilities for campus users.
These new WC’s have been developed as part of an ongoing strategy across campus to modernise our facilities, improving the provision of accessible toilets and spaces, and expanding the availability of all-gender facilities in campus buildings.
