Many thanks to everyone who took part in the recent staff survey, which closed on Sunday 20 October. In total, from the full record of contracted staff - including full time and part time employees - 49% of staff completed the survey, which is a higher rate than for any of the recent staff surveys in 2021-2022. The completion rate rises to over 60% for those with a working pattern equivalent to at least two days a week.
We encouraged as many people as possible to complete the survey so that we could get a more representative view of what staff think about working at Sussex - and stronger insights into where action may be needed. Your views matter and will help to improve the staff experience at the University.
Next steps and results
People Insight, our survey provider, is now aggregating and analysing the survey responses and results will be available as follows:
- Mid November: high-level survey results will be presented to the University executive leadership
- Late November: detailed survey results will be available for Faculties, Schools and Divisions to share with staff
- December: full reports on the results will be published on the staff survey webpages.
Following the publication of results, work will begin on action planning in relation to both area-specific and University-wide issues, and this will continue into 2025.
You can find out more about the staff survey on our webpages.
