Mandatory training is important to ensure you have the information and skills needed to work safely, do your job effectively, and help the University remain compliant with laws and regulations.
In July 2024, automated reminder emails were switched on for the five courses which are mandatory for all staff. Since then, the completion rate for these courses has increased from 59% to 82% across the University. We would like to thank you for your support in completing this essential training.
From 1 June 2025, automated reminder emails for grade specific mandatory training will be switched on. This means that if you have outstanding training that is specific for your grade then you will receive automated emails reminding you to complete it. These emails will be at least a week apart, to give you time to complete the course.
Grade specific training
You can view grade-specific mandatory training below:
Grade 5 and above:
- Recruitment and Selection (This training has become mandatory for roles of Grade 5 and above)
Grade 7 or above:
- Anti-Money Laundering
- Introduction to Counter Fraud
- Unconscious Bias
Your manager will discuss your training completion as part of your Achievement and Development Review (ADR). If you are unsure if you have completed all of your mandatory training, you can find out by logging in to LearnUpon and viewing your enrolled courses on your dashboard. Mandatory courses state that they are mandatory and who they are mandatory for, within the title of each course.
