Colleagues working on the HR System Implementation project (formerly the Digital HR project) recently signed a contract with Oracle Consulting to provide the University’s next HR system.
The new system will replace our existing Zellis HR system including the MyHR user interface, providing a modern, streamlined tool to support the delivery of an efficient and effective HR service.
The system is currently expected to be in use from May 2026.
After signing the contract, Oracle began work with us in early May and the project team are currently focused on ensuring existing data and processes are clearly mapped and up to date before we begin work on the design and build of our new system.
Why do we need a new system?
There has long been frustration across the University with the constraints of our existing HR system and the impact this has on HR response times. The withdrawal of technical support by our existing system supplier from next year has pushed us to replace this critical system in spite of current financial constraints.
Although we will be replacing only core functionality, the new system will offer significant improvements both for those using the tool within HR and colleagues across the University using HR systems and data.
How and when will we deliver it?
The project team are working to an ambitious timeline with the new system currently expected to be in use from May 2026. Most people won’t notice any changes until this point, but the HR team and key contacts across the University are already working hard on the project.
An excellent HR service
Commenting on the latest news, Jodie Trumper, Deputy Director of Human Resources and Senior Responsible Officer for the project said:
“The signing of a contract with Oracle is absolutely fantastic news. A modern and efficient HR system is key to the provision of an excellent HR service and the project team can now focus on making this a reality. This work forms one part of an exciting package of planned improvements to our HR service, and you’ll hear more about this soon.
A big thank you to everyone who has helped to get us to this important milestone.”
