The National Student Barometer

On Monday all students, both undergraduates and postgraduates, will be asked to take part in the National Student Barometer. The survey, which the University has chosen to be a part of, will ask students to share details of their Sussex experience.
We already know the vast majority of our students love studying at Sussex, but we want to know what more we can do centrally and in schools.
So the University is looking to ensure that the response to this survey is as thorough and comprehensive as possible– which means getting as many students as possible to participate.
The survey will be sent out to all students on Monday 30 October by i-Graduate, who have been commissioned to run the survey for all of November. Students will also be able to access the survey on the Sussex Mobile app, via the student news pages and via a social media campaign that will run for the next month.
In recent years this survey has been sent to international students only and the results have led directly to service improvements including significant investment in the arrival and welcome programme, and making the bank account opening process as easy as possible.
These changes have been welcomed by international students. By expanding the survey to all students we hope that more students will benefit from having the chance to share their views.
The survey is fully supported by the Students’ Union and the University has committed to producing an action plan on the back of the survey results.
