University of Sussex staff will get an additional day off over the festive season this year, with Monday 23 December designated as a minimum service day.
The decision means the final working day of the year for the vast majority of staff will be Friday 20 December. The University returns to full service on Thursday 2 January.
Vice-Chancellor Adam Tickell said: “We wanted to do something to show everyone how much we appreciate and value the hard work of staff in making Sussex such a great place to work and study.
“We hope that this additional day’s holiday will make it easier for everyone to make plans, catch up with family and friends and enjoy a well-earned break.”
