You’ll also be able to make new international connections by working collaboratively on projects with fellow students around the world.
We currently offer four Masters courses taught 100% online, more will follow next year:
Energy Policy MSc (online)
Taught by world-leading academics from SPRU and Sussex Energy Group, you will gain an interdisciplinary understanding of energy policy, climate change and sustainability; and you will develop the skills required to contribute to the transition to net-zero carbon energy systems.
Corruption and Governance MA (online)
Providing a distinct interdisciplinary approach to the study of corruption, this MA asks three fundamental questions; what is corruption, how much of it exists, and what should be done to combat it?
International Marketing MSc (online)
Develop the practical and specialist skills to fast-track your marketing knowledge and career. This CIM accredited course focuses on digital marketing, customer relationships and consumer psychology in an international business context.
Sustainable Development MSc (online)
Taught by world-leading academics and practitioners, you’ll learn how to apply theories of socio-economic transformations (power and agency), as well as social and technological innovations for sustainability, to real-world development policies and practices.
Sussex Staff discount
Sussex staff are entitled to a 20% discount off the standard tuition fees for the University's full online Masters level courses. These discounts have been made possible thanks to the generous support of the University's online distance learning partner, Pearson.
If you have any questions about the staff discount for our online Masters courses please email the Online Distance Learning Team here at Sussex.
Built-in flexibility
There are six entry points a year which means you can start your course at a time that suits you. And, if you want to take a break from your studies at any time, you can simply ‘step-off’ the course and re-join once at the next entry point to start your studies again. You have up to four years to complete your course.
Extensive student support
Online students benefit from our dedicated Student Success Team who’ll support you throughout your studies. In addition, you’ll have access to the university’s wider student support services including specialist IT, Library and study skills support, careers advice, and our Health, Wellbeing and Counselling services.
Fees
Course fees can be paid on a modular basis to spread out payments, or as a single fee at the start of the course. You’ll find more details about this staff benefit on the Working at Sussex page, along with the terms and conditions for eligibility.
Feedback from current students
“As a person who is returning for my Masters midway through my career, I’m benefiting from the course through a renewed passion for my profession and updating my knowledge on current practices that I can incorporate into my existing career.
“One advantage to an online course is that you can control your study time and create a schedule that works for your lifestyle. Additionally, University of Sussex’s resources, connections to fellow students, tutors, and advisors, and online platform make accessing information for your studies simple and easy.”
- Trese Foley, International Marketing MSc (online)
“It is a good experience once started and know how everything work, the lesson posted online and all seems like you are really in a class. Interaction with the lecturer and student is possible. The lecturers are supportive even though there are distances, but distance is not a barrier.”
- Jemmila Payet, International Marketing MSc (online)
“I have found the teaching very interactive and the academic and non-academic teams very responsive. The organisation is such that you never work alone as an online student! Furthermore, interactions with fellow students have been at all-time high, coming with a lot of cultural and academic learning from colleagues and networking.
“One of my key responsibilities is supporting and coordinating activities of development partners in my country. Within the short period I have been on this programme – I am only in my third module, my skills and understanding of humanitarian and development nexus has improved drastically and I am already being called to higher responsibilities.”
- Ibrahim Mustapha, Sustainable Development MSc (Online)
