Today, September 21, we wrote to all staff with the steps they need to take before returning to campus. You can read the full email below:
Dear all staff,
As we begin our academic term, there is important information for staff to read and watch before returning to campus.
In order to keep our University and local communities as safe as possible, it's important that you know the latest guidance and measures in place to reduce the transmission of Covid-19, including what to do if you feel unwell.
We ask that everyone watches this new induction video in LearnUpon (using a Chrome browser) in its entirety, which contains key information. It features advice from our Health & Safety team and how we will maintain social distancing so you can return to work on campus in a safe way.
It will help you to understand how in-person teaching on campus will work in practice and the rules of the classroom which have been introduced.
When you’re logged into LearnUpon, this is the video you need to view dated September 2020.
Here's an easy check list of what we are asking you to do:
- Watch this video in LearnUpon in a Chrome browser - using the login details below. Only current, contracted staff can login to LearnUpon. If you are a temporary worker, casual staff, or external staff, you won’t currently have access to LearnUpon. Please don’t worry, you can watch the video here and let your line manager know you have watched it in order to come onto campus.

To view the video, log into LearnUpon in a Chrome browser where possible by clicking the green button on this page https://www.sussex.ac.uk/organisational-development/online.
Login details:
Username: your ITS username@sussex.ac.uk (e.g. ano12@sussex.ac.uk or bsms1234@sussex.ac.uk)
Password: your University of Sussex ITS password
In your Enrolled Courses, click on the course entitled “Covid-19: Safe Return to Campus for Staff”.
You will need to watch to the end so that completion is recorded.
You can access the steps you must take via the Staff Hub and the Autumn 2020 pages, which are regularly updated with the latest University guidance and information
