Testing
A reminder that all essential staff who need to work on campus can be tested up to twice a week. If you only find yourself on campus for one day a week, please try to get tested on that day – one test is better than none.
Testing takes place in the Sport Centre on campus near Falmer House. If you decide to have a test then please make sure that you use this link to book in advance – the process is quick and easy. Testing takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, at any time from 10am – 2pm. This facility will continue to operate on campus until at least the end of March.
Universities Minister Michelle Donelan’s letter to staff
This week the Universities Minister Michelle Donelan wrote to HE staff to thank them for their ongoing commitment to supporting students, maintaining the delivery of their education and helping to mitigate the impacts of Covid-19 on our students, universities and communities.
The Government also announced it will provide additional student hardship funding, which will be allocated to universities via the Office for Students. The University regularly reminds students about how to access hardship funding, which is available to all students. This information has been shared with all students again this week.
Supporting staff and their wellbeing through lockdown
We know that many of us are finding the current restrictions to be challenging and there are many differing needs.
Staff are encouraged to speak to their line manger about their individual circumstances as we continue to work through the lockdown.
Please visit our HR pages where you can find the latest guidance for staff and our wellbeing hub where you will find a range of resources.
There is a new desk-based mobility resource which is a good reminder to everyone to think about the impact of sitting at your desk and the value of regular movement.
Sussexsport's Stay Home With Us programme is a month of free online sessions for the campus community and there’s a range of live classes to try. If you can’t make the live online classes, Sussexsport have downloadable workouts that you can do at a time to suit you, as well as expert advice and video tutorials from their fitness team.
