New location for our Covid-19 test centre
Our University Covid-19 test centre is moving. From Tuesday 4 May until the end of June, testing for staff and students without symptoms will take place on level 1 of Bramber House, in Dine Central.
All staff who need to work on campus can be tested up to twice a week until at least the end of June. The test centre is for those without symptoms; anyone with a new cough, a high temperature or changes in their sense of smell or taste should instead self-isolate and arrange for a home test kit to be delivered.
You can make a booking for a test on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, at any time from 10am to 3pm. View more information about testing on campus.
Your security on campus
Please be reassured that the University campus remains a safe place to work. Security staff patrol the campus 24 hours a day, 365 days a week – and security staff at the York House reception can be reached any time on 01273 67 8234.
The University is absolutely committed to identifying and addressing any issues that staff or students raise in relation to their security. We have already carried out significant work on improving lighting around campus, to make people feel more comfortable moving around when it is dark and every year we carry out a lighting tour to make sure our campus is well lit.
We also have a lone working policy, to ensure that colleagues feel secure when they are on campus early in the morning or late in the evening. If you have experienced something on campus that has made you feel unsafe, please raise this with your line manager – who can bring it to the attention of their Head of School or Divisional Director if required.
Staff wellbeing
A coach and facilitator at the Association of Heads of University Administration has reviewed the challenges of an intense schedule of online meetings while working from home. As the work/life boundaries are more at risk of becoming blurred, it’s more important than ever to make time for your own wellbeing and adopt healthy habits.
