Menopause Café: 23 June | 2-3 pm

Staff need to feel comfortable and be able to share their lived experiences with each other. The Menopause Café is a safe and confidential space to share stories and discuss all things menopause over a cup of tea/coffee. There’s no pre-set agenda, it’s open to everyone regardless of gender.

Volunteer for Clearing 2021

Last year the Admissions team were joined by more than 100 staff volunteers from across Sussex who were able to make 1,000+ offers on A level results day alone. This year we need volunteers once again to staff the phones on 10 August from 8am – 5pm. Full training will be provided, and you’ll be supported by the Admissions team both leading up to Clearing and on the day itself.

This month you are invited to join Bike Month, a fun campaign to get more people on bikes and spread the joys of cycling. It doesn't matter if you ride every day or if you haven't been on a bike in years. To get involved, register at lovetoride.net (or log in if you took part in previous challenges). Then read the tips on cycling and set yourself a goal for Bike Month.

The deadline for applying for the EU Settlement Scheme is 30 June 2021. Please check if you are eligible for the scheme as EU, EEA and Swiss staff members who do not apply by the deadline will need to apply for immigration permission, either as a Skilled Worker or through another non-sponsored visa route.

A new date of Sunday 12 September 2021 has been announced for the Brighton Marathon running and cycling events which were postponed from 2020. Staff, students and alumni are encouraged to sign up now to secure a tailored support package (including a free t-shirt and massage) and help take our ground-breaking mental health research to the next level.

University’s online wellbeing hub contains a wide range of self-directed resources for staff. As well as physical and mental health resources, there is a section on financial wellbeing, and a section for managers to ensure they are able to support their direct reports and so we can ensure a duty of care to support the wellbeing of others.
