A partnership between the International Office and OneStep Global has resulted in a record intake of students from India to the University of Sussex.
Following an agreement signed in June 2021, OneStep now provides support for the University of Sussex’s student recruitment work in India, which has a growing population of dynamic young people seeking overseas education.
The initial phase of the partnership proved hugely successful and resulted in a record intake of students from India in September 2021. A total of 266 new students from India enrolled in September 2021, a 254% increase on 2020 and a 104% increase on 2019.
The partnership reflects the additional investment being made into supporting Indian students to join Sussex. As the student recruitment market in India continues to grow, the partnership will help ensure we maintain our long-term competitiveness in the region.
OneStep has appointed Radhika Arora as a consultant to exclusively support Sussex’s recruitment work in India. As Recruitment and Marketing Adviser, Radhika has made an immediate impact on conversion by providing individual support to hundreds of offer holders hoping to join Sussex.
Radhika works alongside Isobel Hussey, International Officer, and Leo Cutting, Senior International Officer, in the Central and South Asia student recruitment team. Raising the visibility of Sussex at both online and face to face recruitment fairs in India, Radhika is also building and strengthening relationships with local agents.
Martin Hookham-Simms, Head of International Office says: "Our partnership with OneStep Global in India represents an exciting development in student recruitment in the region for the University of Sussex. By hosting a representative in country we can support offer holders and prospective students more effectively, whilst growing our profile and visibility across India."
