We recently held a webinar at which Keith Jones, Tim Westlake and Ian Duffy presented an overview of the £200million investment programme which is helping us to deliver our Sussex 2025 vision to be ‘a better University for a better world’. A recording of the event is now available to watch online.
There are a huge number of projects within the programme, and some of them are already underway. Here are just few highlights of the programme and other developments across the University:
- The new Student Centre (core to our Sussex 2025 vision) is having a ‘soft launch’ on 25 April. More details will be available closer to the time
- The Professional Services space reconfiguration project is underway, with early work in progress to identify a third-party supplier who will help us set the scope and gather team requirements
- Work on West Slope will start with the enabling works phase of the programme commencing shortly, meaning road closures and diversions across campus for several months, while services are upgraded ready to support the main build Already work to move the Student Garden is underway, and the children’s play area will be moved in the summer
- The new Student Information System project is well underway, with procurement due to be completed by summer 2022. This is an important first step in our journey towards launching our new system in autumn 2024
- There are ITS improvements which are part of the wider Systems portfolio within the programme, including the upcoming rollout of the new University Identity Access Management System and Unified Communications (telephony) project, which you will hear more about in due course.
