Earlier this week, you may have seen an update from our Interim Vice-Chancellor David Maguire, where he shared news relating to our recently launched Library Strategy.
It’s been 61 years since University of Sussex Library was founded and over the decades, the Library has served our community as an incredible resource for knowledge and research. Much more than simply a building, it has played host to internationally significant collections, ensuring they remain safe for future generations.
As the world changes, we continue to seek ways to futureproof the services we offer to you and our students. And as outlined in the Library Strategy, we’re now entering a period of transformation, where we are seeking to address changes to the educational and research landscape. To enable us to do this, we are embracing the opportunity to modernise technology, revisit and develop processes and transform experiences. This digital shift and service-centred approach underpins the delivery of our new strategic plan.
Commenting on this new strategic direction, Jane Harvell, Director of Library Services and University Librarian said: “The work we do has never been more important and so I’m really pleased to be able to share our new and exciting plan, and to celebrate the key role we, in the library, proudly play at the University of Sussex.”
