The HESA Data Futures project team has met the deadline for the second interim submission of student data to HESA (the Higher Education Statistics Agency). This was due on 18 August and was delivered with two and a half weeks to spare!
Along with the successful first submission (in May), this important achievement demonstrates that the University is on track to meet the final submission deadline to HESA in October.
Sussex, along with all UK higher education providers, submits student data each year to HESA, who in turn share it with public authorities like the Office for Students and the Department for Education. The HESA Data Futures project was put in place to prepare us for significant changes to the way this data is structured and collected. Providing this data is a statutory requirement.
The second data submission had to be correctly provided according to the new way this information is organised and has to cover at least 90% of the student population.
The next landmark date for the project is the 13 October, which is the deadline for the final submission for 2022/23.
