Reminder to Teaching Staff - Panopto microphone/audio issue workaround

We're aware of the ongoing issue affecting Panopto recordings in campus lecture rooms, where the microphone/audio device isn't automatically set, resulting in no audio on recordings.
This is a vendor-related issue which is affecting many Panopto-using universities across the sector. We do however apologise for the inconvenience and we are working with them on a permanent solution.
In the meantime, here's a quick fix:
1. Launch Panopto from Canvas: choose the "Panopto for Windows" option.
2. Check audio settings: ensure an audio device is selected before starting your recording.

This week we will also be ensuring a hard copy of the Panopto audio fix instructions is placed in general teaching spaces. Additionally, each room will have advice on which specific audio interface should be selected for that room.
