Listening to staff between surveys – share your ideas and feedback online by 8 March

Regular feedback from staff about their experiences is vital as we build a Sussex for the future. In January, dozens of academic and Professional Services staff joined online focus groups to explore the best ways for staff views to be shared and heard in between the staff surveys that will be running every two years. Lots of great ideas and comments were shared by those who took part. You can find out what they had to say – and add your views – on our online Padlet board.
During the focus groups, staff tackled four main questions:
-
How should we decide on the themes?
-
How should we listen?
-
When and how often?
-
Is central coordination and support needed?
Read their ideas and add your thoughts by Friday 8 March. We want to hear as many views as possible so please do take five minutes to take a look and share any comments you may have.
How we’re taking action following staff surveys
We are moving to a two-year survey cycle, and our next survey is anticipated to take place in November 2024. In the meantime, action plans created using the feedback from our previous staff surveys remain in place and continue to be implemented across the University. You can view actions plans for each School and Division on the staff survey webpages.
Every month, you can read short case studies from across the University highlighting the extensive work underway to improve staff experience in response to survey feedback. The updates are published on the Staff Hub and you can read recent case studies from the School of Media, Arts and Humanities and the HR Division.
