A report was made to University Security yesterday evening (Tuesday 5 March) that led to police being called to accommodation on campus. Given the serious nature of the report it was a standard police decision to deploy an armed response.
As the matter is now in the hands of the police we cannot say anything further about the nature of the incident, but we wanted to reassure and confirm that there is no ongoing risk to students or staff.
