The University is committed to supporting you in getting to work by safe and sustainable means. By choosing to travel actively and sustainably, you can reduce your carbon footprint and work with fellow students and staff to reach Net Zero Carbon by 2035.
Sustainable and active travel means walking, wheeling, running, cycling, or using public transport. You can choose these methods to increase your health, get some exercise and to reduce your carbon emissions.
Riding a bike is a great way to champion sustainable living and wellbeing, and it can be a healthier alternative to driving or using public transport. Staff can benefit from the Cycle to Work Scheme, which is provided by Cycle Solutions and Halfords. Both providers offer a great choice of bikes, including e-bikes and accessories, up to the value of £3,000, with tax-free lease agreements of 12, 18 and 24 months to suit your needs. The scheme can save you up to 30-40% on a bike and accessories.
Use your sustainable commute to campus to save money and help us be one of the most sustainable universities in the world.
