Colleagues in Educational Enhancement have developed a new self-study Canvas course to equip teaching staff with the knowledge to evaluate and use Generative AI tools, focusing primarily on Microsoft Copilot. The course means staff can learn at their own pace.
Topics covered from this module include:
- Introduction to AI (artificial intelligence)
- What AI can do, and the opportunities and limitations
- How to access Microsoft Copilot
- Microsoft Copilot features
- Best practise for use of AI in teaching and learning
- Creating images and uploading documents
- Communicating with students about the use of AI, with examples.
The course is primarily aimed at teaching staff, but PS staff are also welcome to enrol.
All Sussex staff and students now have exclusive access to a secure web version of Microsoft Copilot, accessible via your Sussex account. This unique access ensures your data remains protected while you explore the capabilities of AI (unlike other web accessible tools).
Visit the Microsoft Copilot web page for more information. Details on AI and assessments can be found on the Skills Hub.
