Help! I am being overcharged by PayByPhone…
An overcharge will only occur if you use the wrong car park code when paying for parking, or if you opt in for additional fees.
Car park codes: The correct code for staff with a Pay As You Go permit is 810082 and should be used to pay for parking in all campus car parks. Other car park codes you might see on signage in the car parks applies to visitor parking charges.
Extra service fees: If you are using the PayByPhone app to pay for parking, you can turn off SMS notifications on the main payment screen or in Account Settings to avoid additional charges. If you are offered an option to ‘protect your parking’ for an additional fee, select ‘Not Now’ to avoid paying for this service.

The staff parking charges are confusing…
Staff who registered for a Pay As You Go Permit pay £2 every time they park in any campus car park between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Parking on campus is free at all other times for staff who are registered permit holders.
Staff who opted for an annual permit pay £30 per month (£360 per year) – this is paid through monthly salary deduction, pro rata, based on working hours relative to FTE.

Car park signage displays incorrect car park codes – I’m getting charged more than £2 for daily parking:
The codes displayed on signage in campus car parks are for visitor parking only and apply to visitor parking charges. To access staff Pay As You Go parking rates, enter car park code 810082 when paying for parking via PayByPhone.

Why can’t staff park on campus after 5pm?
Staff can park on campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Charges for staff only apply Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm. However, if a staff member does not have a registered Pay As You Go or an annual permit, they will need to pay visitor rates, which are higher and charged 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
