Sussex AI Day 2025

This week we concluded AI Day 2025 - our Internal Research Symposium in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, and it was a resounding success! The event brought together 200 researchers, faculty, and students to explore advancements, exchange ideas, and foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
The day featured:
Engaging talks: 16 presentations delivered by Colleagues from University of Sussex. Each talk was followed with thought-provoking discussions.
Poster Sessions: 30 posters in total, celebrating the incredible talent within our community.
Project pitches: Provocative ideas encouraged attendees to explore new tools, techniques, and interdisciplinary approaches to AI challenges.
Inspiring Keynote: Professor Marc Deisenroth, Director of Science & Innovation (Environment and Sustainability) at The Alan Turing InstituteTuring Institute and Google DeepMind Chair of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence at University College London. Marc presented Opportunities for Machine Learning to Accelerate Progress in Environmental Modelling.
The event highlighted not only the depth of talent within Sussex AI but also the power of collaboration. The enthusiasm and exchange of ideas during the symposium were truly energizing.
