To help you guide them to the advice, guidance and support they may need you can refer to the information below.
Why is there specific support for international students at Sussex?
International students often encounter unique challenges, from navigating visa and immigration processes to adapting to a new academic culture and finding suitable accommodation. The Student Hub and My Sussex offers a comprehensive range of information and support services tailored to their needs, including:
- Visa and Immigration Guidance: The International Advice Team provides confidential advice on visa applications and immigration queries, ensuring students can focus on their studies without legal concerns.
- Accommodation Support: Whether students are seeking on-campus housing or private rentals, the Housing Team offers valuable advice and checks tenancy agreements to safeguard their rights.
- Guide to living in the UK: Helping students to make the most out of their experience living in the UK.
- Money: Opening bank accounts in the UK, transferring money, money advice, fees, scholarships and more.
- Academic Support: The English Language and Academic Study Team helps non-native English speakers improve their language skills and understand UK academic expectations through workshops and one-on-one tutorials.
- Health and Wellbeing: Information on health services available to international students.
