The Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost has opened nominations and invites applications for the following Heads of School roles:
In the Faculty of Science, Engineering and Medicine:
- Head of School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences - from 1 August 2025
- Head of School of Engineering & Informatics - from 1 August 2025
- Head of School of Psychology - from 1 August 2025
- Head of School of Life Sciences - from 1 August 2025
In the Faculty of Social Sciences:
- Head of School of Education and Social Work – from 1 August 2025
- Head of School of Law, Politics and Sociology – from 1 August 2025
Head of School is a key role for all members of the School, Faculty and the wider University. These roles are being internally recruited due to a combination of people in the roles reaching the end of their terms and filling roles which had previously been appointed on an interim basis.
If you would like to nominate someone for consideration, please email your nomination to Lesley Rolf (l.d.rolf@sussex.ac.uk) in the Provost’s office. Alternatively, if you wish to apply directly, please do so by applying on the jobs portal. If you are interested in the role, you are invited to reach out to your Executive Dean for an informal discussion.
The application deadline is midnight on 27 May 2025. The deadline for nominations is midnight on 21 May 2025. This will give anyone nominated sufficient time to submit an application. Interviews are scheduled between 9-18 June.
