We’re making an important update to keep your eduroam connection secure. On Thursday 4 September 2025, the security certificate for eduroam will be renewed. This update helps protect your data and ensures you can continue to connect safely to the network.
What do I need to do?
From Thursday 4 September, all students and staff who use a non-University managed device* will need to 'forget' the eduroam network and reconnect to get the new certificate, which can be done on and off campus.
Note: before you do this, you may see a message on your phone or laptop saying you’ve been disconnected from eduroam. Don’t worry - this is expected.
* The update will happen automatically for those on University managed devices.
How can I do this?
- Step 1: Download instructions. Download these 'reconnection' instructions to your desktop.
- Step 2: Forget the existing eduroam network. Follow these quick instructions to remove the old connection.
- Step 3: Reconnect to the eduroam network. Locate the reconnection instructions saved to your desktop in step 1 and follow them to reconnect to eduroam.
