Pay spine amendment – Real Living Wage spinal point

The University is an accredited Real Living Wage Employer, and will be paying the new rate of £13.45 per hour from 1 January 2026.
For this to happen within our current pay spine we will introduce a Real Living Wage (RLW) spinal point to replace spinal points 12 and 13. This will be the annualised salary of the new RLW rate, £13.45 per hour, £25,529 per annum.
As part of enabling this change, spinal point 15 will become incremental rather than discretionary, also with effect from 1 January 2026.
The pay spine for Grades 2 and 3 from 1 January 2026 will be:
