We recognise this may be a difficult time for staff following the Voluntary Leave Scheme announcement.
The University has a range of wellbeing resources to support staff; further details are given below.
Support and information
MyView and VLS 2025 enquiries - MyView provides access to all current information about the Voluntary Leavers Scheme (VLS 2025), including the scheme overview, FAQs, pension details, timelines, and the application section. It is the first place to check for answers to common questions and for understanding the process from start to finish.
As it is updated regularly, MyView is also the quickest and most reliable way to access the latest guidance as you consider your options.
If you have questions about VLS 2025, please use the enquiry routes outlined on MyView. Staff can attend an in-person drop-in session (details available on MyView) or complete the VL Enquiry Form (link available via MyView). This ensures your question is directed to the appropriate team.
Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) - confidential 24/7 emotional and wellbeing support, including counselling and advice.
Occupational Health - support for managing stress, health concerns, or workplace adjustments connected to periods of change.
Staff Wellbeing Hub - access to self-care tools, mental health information, and resilience resources.
Mental Health First Aiders - our Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders) are available for a confidential, non-judgemental conversation if you are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or simply need someone to listen. They can also help signpost you to appropriate wellbeing support if needed.
Chaplaincy Service - you may find it helpful to visit our Chaplaincy service based in the Meeting House, where Chaplains representing a wide variety of religious and nonreligious perspectives are available. You can also contact our Lead Chaplain, James Croft, for an appointment by emailing J.F.Croft@sussex.ac.uk.
