From 1 September 2026 the Finance Service Desk has expanded its service to become the first point of contact for students with finance enquiries, while continuing to support all University staff.
How to contact the Finance Service Desk
Email FinanceServiceDesk@sussex.ac.uk between 9:00am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Or call 01273 87 7172 between 10:00am and 2:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Colleagues should continue to contact the Finance Service Desk for all finance-related queries - including systems access, insurance, Barclaycards and purchasing, as well as to organise training or for support with finance tasks.
Staff who work with students are asked to sign-post students to the Finance Service Desk. The ‘Credit Control’ and ‘Student Accounts’ email addresses should no longer be used.
The Finance Service Desk can assist students with queries relating to tuition fee and accommodation fee payments. For other enquiries, including money advice, scholarships, fee status and housing charges, students should contact the relevant service listed below.
Response times
Due to the busy registration period, enquiry volumes are currently exceptionally high. Response times for complex enquiries may be up to seven working days, as registration related queries are being prioritised. Colleagues and students are thanked for their patience and understanding during this busy period.
Signposting students with other queries or support needs
Students in need of specialist support, including help with financial hardship, wellbeing, study visas or money advice, should contact the Student Centre Welcome and Triage team. Students may:

Students can also access My Sussex, which is a help-tool designed to offer additional support throughout a student’s studies. The portal provides FAQs, guidance, and routes to specialist advisors.
