Managing RAAC on campus – April 2024 update
Posted on behalf of: Better Campus
Last updated: Thursday, 25 April 2024
We are continuing to survey and replace RAAC used in the original construction of our campus buildings. RAAC has now been found to have been used in the construction of seven university buildings.
The safety of students and staff remains our top priority, and where necessary, safety measures such as scaffolding props are in place. The condition of RAAC in each building is checked regularly and all buildings remain open and safe to use with access restrictions where necessary.
The location and condition of RAAC is unique to each building, so where possible, RAAC replacement projects will be integrated into existing campus improvement plans, helping us to deliver the best solution for each building.
