Kind-hearted staff at the University of Sussex and Institute of Development Studies have donated hundreds of Christmas presents for less fortunate children and families in Brighton and Hove.
A collection over several weeks saw staff drop in more than 500 gifts for vulnerable children aged 0-12. These children - who are not in care, but are in need - are supported by Brighton and Hove’s Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH).
The initiative was organised by Simone Robinson, who works in the University’s Research and Enterprise Services division.
Simone, pictured wearing the pointy elf ears, saw her original target of 200 presents smashed as generous colleagues filled up five tables with toys, games and clothing.
As a result, 173 children across 96 families in Brighton and Hove will each receive a bundle of presents in time for Christmas Day.
“We cannot express how grateful we are to you all for the kindness you have shown this festive season,” said a Referral Officer for MASH in a message to Sussex staff.
