The University of Sussex has won a worldwide award for its annual magazine, Falmer.
The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) has awarded Falmer bronze in the magazine category of its 2019 Circle of Excellence Awards.
Nearly 3,000 entries were received, across 100 categories and from 20 countries.
The judges said of Falmer: “This is a really nice, creative magazine. It packs a lot into 48 pages without being overwhelming. Smart writing and strong design with a nice mix of great photography and illustration.”
Falmer editor Sally Atkinson, Alumni Relations Manager, said:
“Congratulations and thanks go to everyone who plays a role in making Falmer so engaging.
“It’s a truly collaborative effort and we’re lucky in being able to draw upon a rich seam of content from current Sussex research and inspiring alumni stories.”
The magazine is primarily for alumni and supporters of the University but its readership also includes staff, students and visitors to campus and those in the local community. 75,000 copies are printed each year, and 45,000 people receive the digital version of the magazine.
The 2019 issue will be published in July.
