Applications are now open for the University of Sussex Undergraduate Summer School 2025. The Summer School has welcomed students from around the world for more than two decades since its launch in 2002.
The Summer School offers students the opportunity to experience life at Sussex for durations of three, four, six, or eight weeks. The 2025 academic programme features 20 credit-bearing academic modules spanning all four Faculties. The modules are taught by Sussex faculty and designed to appeal to a diverse range of interests and academic goals.
New offerings include English Language and British Culture, Biomedicine and Genomics, and Organic Chemistry. Business students can explore innovative topics such as sustainable practices in the module Innovation and Sustainability, while a new Global Studies module focuses on Climate Justice. Popular subjects such as Physics, History, Film, Politics, and Psychology remain central to the programme.
Whilst at Summer School, students will live in East Slope accommodation, immersing themselves in campus life over the summer. Alongside their studies, students can enjoy a wide range of social events and activities supported by our own Sussex students. Weekly excursions to local cultural and historical landmarks are a key part of the experience, with the 2025 programme introducing a standout London Weekend. This includes visits to the British Museum, Tower of London, and Windsor Castle, as well as a River Thames cruise.
The Summer School provides many benefits to University life. In addition to student enrolments, the Summer School helps maximise the use of the campus in the quieter summer months and strengthens relationships with our network of Global Partnership Universities who send their students to study at Sussex each year. The students leave with special memories of their time at Sussex and Brighton. When they leave as alumni, our hope is that they return to campus for future postgraduate study.
