Update 24/08/26: maintenance on the parking permit self-service portal is ongoing. We will provide further information once renewals and new applications are open for the academic year 2026/27.
Starting from September 2026, the majority of staff parking permits will automatically renew each year to ensure a smoother experience for drivers on campus.
All parking permits for University staff (including IDS, BSMS and SEF) will automatically renew from Thursday 1 October. If you are a staff member and you wish to keep your current parking permit, no action is required.
Standard parking permit applications for students and new joiners will open at the end of August, for the new academic year 2026/27.
If you are a staff member and you do not wish to renew your permit for 2026/27, please log in to your parking permit account from Monday 24 August and select “Opt Out”, then “Submit”, and your permit will not be renewed. If you would like to change your parking permit type, please contact the Transport Office.
If you are an Associate (e.g. a doctoral or retired tutor), and/or you pre-pay for your parking permit (instead of paying daily, or monthly via wage deduction), please manually renew your permit by logging in to the portal from the end of August and selecting “Opt In”.
To allow extra time to renew your permit, or decide if you want to opt-out, all existing parking permits will be automatically extended to expire on Wednesday 30 September.
Parking permits for motorcycles and University-owned vehicles renew automatically each year. Blue Badge holders are exempt from parking charges – please contact the Transport Office to register your exemption.
Parking permits for other groups on campus (e.g. Students’ Union, NHS and Study Group) are manually updated each year. Please speak to your line manager or team administrator for more information.
You can change your registered vehicles at any time by logging in to the parking permit portal. You can register up to five vehicles at once on one permit.
