This Diwali, we’re welcoming Majahma, a much-loved Brighton tiffin delivery service, to campus. Majahma cooks authentic Indian home-style dishes inspired by regions from the Punjabi hills to the Keralan coast, and for three days only, you’ll find their food at The Veg Bowl.
When: Thursday 5 to Saturday 7 November, 12pm to 3pm
Where: The Veg Bowl
Price: £7.95 for the full plate
On the menu
Ringra Butetta
Aubergine and potato marinated in kasoori methi, chilli and garlic, topped with mustard mooli. This curry has been a favourite in the Majahma family for decades.
Curry Leaf & Cavolo Dal
Traditionally served as a soup, this lentil dish has been given a little extra body. Expect gentle chilli heat with hints of ginger, lemon and jaggery.
Sambharo Stir Fry
Carrots, cabbage and peppers stir-fried with a temper of mustard, hing and lemon. This hot salad is a regular fixture in many Gujarati households.
Served with basmati rice and mango, pineapple & mint chutney.
For £7.95 you get the curry, dal, stir fry, rice and chutney, all on one plate. It’s a proper feast for a lunchtime price, so come along, bring your friends and celebrate the Festival of Lights with us.
