20-26 October marks International Open Access Week, an annual celebration of open research. There are free online events organised by universities, publishers and researchers around the world, exploring this year’s theme: Who Owns Our Knowledge?
At Sussex, the Research and Open Scholarship team in the Library are here to support researchers with training, resources and infrastructure to make research openly available to all.
- Our new training programme Becoming an Open Researcher offers a series of workshops offered online and in person throughout the year. These workshops will help you get started in navigating open research, demystifying the different routes to Open Access publication, sharing research data, and engaging with the principles and benefits of open research.
- We’ve refreshed our guidelines on publishing Open Access, including our guidance on Open Access requirements for REF 2029, to highlight useful information for researchers and Professional Services staff.
- We can support you in using Sussex Figshare to publish your research data and increase its reproducibility.
- Open Press University of Sussex (OPUS) is the University’s Diamond Open Access publisher, making textbooks, edited collections and educational resources available at no cost to either readers or authors. You can browse our existing catalogue here, or get in touch to talk about publishing your own book or journal.
