This accreditation reflects our commitment to addressing challenges, building on our strengths, and fostering an inclusive environment for all.
A Faculty-wide commitment
The Award marks an important milestone for the Faculty of Social Sciences, with all three Schools – Global Studies, Law, Politics and Sociology, and Education and Social Work – now holding an Athena Swan Bronze Award.
This achievement highlights our shared commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and our ongoing progress in advancing gender equality across our Faculty, as we work towards acquiring an Athena Swan Silver Award at Faculty level.
Professor Geert De Neve, Head of School of Global Studies, said: “We are proud to celebrate our Athena Swan Bronze Award. This is a testament to our continued commitment to advancing gender equality and to implementing initiatives that promote the inclusion and belonging of students and staff of all genders in our School.
“Our action plan identifies clear priority areas for development, and I would like to thank Professor Clionadh Raleigh and the Global Studies Athena Swan Self-Assessment Team for their dedication and hard work over the last year”.
