Last updated: Monday, 27 April 2026

As we approach the year’s Learning at Work Week, on Tuesday 5 May (1pm-2pm) join Robin Banerjee (Pro-Vice-Chancellor Global and Civic Engagement) in conversation with colleagues from across the University, including Kate O'Riordan (Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education and Students), Anthony Groves (User Experience Senior Manager) and Dan Axson (Learning Technologies Manager).
Register on this workshop through LearnUpon. Please log in to LearnUpon first for this link to take you directly to there. You can then register to attend online or in person.
Together, they’ll explore the many ways staff can learn and develop at Sussex — from building skills through training and accreditations, to mentoring and coaching, and taking on new challenges in your role.
The discussion will reflect on what lifelong learning looks like in practice, and how it can help you grow, adapt and thrive at every stage of your career. This is a chance to hear honest perspectives, discover opportunities currently available to you, and leave with practical ideas to support your own development journey. The event takes place in the Terrace Room of Bramber House and will be streamed on Zoom.
About Learning at Work Week: 18-22 May
Learning at Work Week is an annual, national campaign to inspire and engage people around lifelong learning at work. This will be the fourth year we celebrate Learning at Work Week at Sussex, and it’s proving increasingly popular each year, as we collaborate with individuals and teams across the University to host a diverse range of events and workshops.
This year’s national theme is “Many ways to learn”, which explores the wide variety of ways we can build skills, grow confidence, and develop both personally and professionally
It’s a great opportunity to discover how learning can fit into our everyday lives, whether through social learning, experimenting and “learning by doing,” online resources, coaching, shadowing, or more structured training. The theme also reminds us of the importance of creating inclusive opportunities for lifelong learning that benefit everyone at work.
