Thank you for taking part in the Staff Pulse Survey – next steps and timeline for results

Many thanks to everyone who took part in the Staff Pulse Survey, which closed on Sunday 2 November.
In total, well over 1,600 colleagues shared their perspective on various topics relating to working at Sussex. This represents 45% of contracted staff, and 55% of those with a working pattern equivalent to at least two days a week. This is a slightly lower response rate than for our latest full staff survey in autumn 2024, which saw 49% of staff take part, but the large number of responses will be a valuable source of information during this period of change.
This survey feedback is an important way for us to understand staff perspectives and responses from a wide range of colleagues across the University help us gain a more representative view of what staff think about working at Sussex. This, in turn, gives us stronger insights into where action may be needed. Your views matter and will help to improve the staff experience so, again, thank you for taking part.
The Pulse survey results, together with the results from the full staff survey in autumn 2024, will further inform the action planning which is ongoing.
Next steps and results
The survey results will be available as follows:
- Mid November: High-level survey results will be presented to the University executive leadership. Detailed survey results will also be available for Faculties, Schools and Divisions to share with staff.
- End November: Full results reports will be published on the staff survey webpages.
- January-March 2026: Results will be reviewed in detail, priority areas identified, and action plans updated.
