Arrivals Weekend will be taking place from Friday 18 to Sunday 20 September, when we will be welcoming thousands of new and returning students to campus as they move into their accommodation for the year.
P7 Jubilee Multi-Storey will be used as the primary long-stay visitor parking (e.g. for parents and guests) during Arrivals Weekend, so please note that parking may be limited.
Please read through the following information for impacts to staff and campus parking during arrivals.
Thursday 17 September
In addition to the Arrivals Weekend, several hundred international students will be arriving via coach during Thursday, throughout the day.
No impact to parking is expected, however please be cautious of coaches and pedestrians when driving on campus, especially around the north side of campus (from Boiler House Hill onwards).
Friday 18 September
Campus will be very busy on Friday, with the following impacts in place.
We strongly advise that staff work remotely wherever possible on Friday, as campus parking and public transport will be greatly impacted.
- P1 Science car park is closed entirely to staff
- P6 Ridge and P7a Upper Arts will have limited parking available
- All student vehicles will be entering via Knights Gate Road; we advise entering via University Way (the "bottom" entrance to campus, by the Sport Centre) if you are driving to campus
- Boiler House Hill, Refectory Road and all residential areas will be very busy, and should be avoided if possible
Bus services to the residences will be suspended from 8am to 6pm on all three days. The 25 service(s) will exit campus after Boiler House Hill, and the following bus stops will be unavailable:
- Bramber House
- Lewes Court
- Northfield
- East Slope
- Southern Ring Road (BSMS)
- North-South Road (southbound only, northbound will stay open)
- Freeman
Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September
Campus will continue to be busy, with very limited parking space available on Saturday due to a concurrent Amex Stadium football match at 3pm.
If you are a staff member and you need to park on campus on Saturday and Sunday, please use the P3 Biology and P11 Knights Gate car parks.
Bus services will be limited during the weekend from 8am to 6pm, as above.
